about
The 2023-2024 season promises to be full of highlights for Jehanne, who will make her Staatsoper Unter den Linden debut in the roles of Cléone and L'Amour in Charpentier's "Médée," conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and directed by Peter Sellars. She will then take on these roles again (understudy) at the Opéra de Paris, conducted by William Christie and directed by David McVicar.
Additionally, Jehanne will be the Norwegian and the High Priestess in Philidor's "Ernelinde" at the Oslo Opera House, under the direction of Martin Wåhlberg.
The season also promises to be rich in eagerly-awaited CD releases. These include Charpentier's "Médée" for Alpha, in the roles of Cléone, the Italienne and the Phantom, with the orchestra the Concert Spirituel conducted by Hervé Niquet.
Also scheduled are Rameau's "Castor & Pollux" and J.B. Cardonne's "Omphale", in which Jehanne sings Céphise, Love, a Plaisir, and an other Ombre heureuse, with the Orfeo Orchestra conducted by György Vashegyi.
Furthermore, you can listen to Charpentier's famous "Te Deum" and Desmarets' lesser-known but nonetheless brilliant work, performed by Les Surprises under the direction of Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas, also on Alpha records were Jehanne will sing the soprano solos.

— EMMANUEL DEROEUX, OLYRIX
"The Soprano Jehanne Amzal stands out for her straight, pure projection, her crystalline intonation shining in the high notes. Her Latin pronunciation is impeccable, with elegant phrasing that blends into her velvety timbre."
