ABOUT

For the current and upcoming seasons, Jehanne will make her debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in M.A. Charpentier's "Médée," performing the roles of Cléone and l'Amour under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle and the direction of Peter Sellars. Jehanne has performed in prestigious venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Oslo Opera House, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, and Barcelona’s Palau de la Música, among many others.

Her operatic career has led her to perform the roles of L'Amour and a Suivante d'Hébé in Rameau’s "Castor & Pollux," conducted by Gyorgy Vashegyi at the Müpa in Budapest and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. More recently, she interpreted the role of Ismènide in "Iphigénie en Tauride" by Campra and Desmarest at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, conducted by Hervé Niquet.

"The soprano Jehanne Amzal stands out for her straight, pure projection, her crystalline intonation shining in the high notes. Her Latin pronunciation is impeccable, with elegant phrasing that blends into her velvety timbre."
